This is a 2 day training and assessment course in the knowledge and use of explosives for snow blasting.

 

Successful participants will achieve a Test Certificate Approved Handler Issued pursuant to Section 82 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996

A progressive, practical introduction to explosive products in a controlled of snow environment.

 

Failure characteristics of snowpack.

 

Introduction to explosives use in avalanche control on a snow sport area.

 

Detonation of explosives in an on snow simulated avalanche control situation.
