This programme is held over 4 days and extends on the information provided in the basic first aid course. It is aimed at those wishing to gain greater knowledge in first aid and suits the individual working in a role were extended care may have to be given. The course content includes, but extends on these topics and requires the course participants to undertake some pre-course reading.

  • Accident site management
  • Patient assessment CPR and basic life support
  • Fracture assessment and treatment
  • Spinal assessment and treatment
  • Common medical conditions
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Traction splinting

This course is ideal for those looking at a career in the outdoor industry and provides them with a good knowledge base in emergency care management. Again the course uses extensive use of scenarios to reinforce all instruction and to allow the course participants to put into practice the skills being taught.
