This course is targeted at those who do not yet hold a current first aid certificate. The programme is held over 2 days and covers NZQA unit standards 6400, 6401, and 6402. This course is designed to meet basic industry standards for a first aid certificate. The course content will include topics such as:

• Accident site management
• Patient assessment
• CPR and basic life support
• Fracture assessment and treatment
• Spinal assessment and treatment
• Common medical conditions

This course uses a scenario-based method of teaching to reinforce the instruction given and aims to involve the course participants as much as possible.
