Peak Safety has recently been contracted to perform a course audit for the Oxfam trail walk which is occuring later this year. The event safety work has been getting busier and busier lately which is great as this work is exciting and enjoyable.

As part of the Oxfam event safety we rode mountain bikes around the 100km course in the baking hot January sun. Along the way we took GPS waypoints every 1km. There will be course markers at these waypoints so that participants will know exactly where they are during the event. Additionally we assessed logical emergency access points including helipads and liased with private landowners should access to the course be required on the day.

We continue to increase the amount of event safety management that Peak Safety performs which is now a significant part of the business. For some events we provide medical services and Safety Managers on the day while for others we create, audit and assist with improving the event Safety Plan.

Good luck to all those entering the Oxfam in Taupo this year. Its a great event for a great cause.
